Swedish companies far ahead in their digitalization process

Swedish companies have put digitalization as a top priority. More than eight out of ten companies (84,4 percent) have ongoing digitalization initiatives and seven out of ten companies also consider additional digitalization to be of high priority, according to a new survey conducted by IP EXPO Nordic, part of Europe’s number one enterprise IT event series, taking place in September 2016.

Swedish companies claim to have made big leaps in the digitalization process. One out of three companies even consider themselves to be ahead of the competition. Seven out of ten (67,1 percent) companies stress that additional digitalization is a top priority. 

– In terms of digitalization, Swedish and Nordic companies are leading the way. Companies in the UK and elsewhere are definitely looking to the region for inspiration and best practice, says Bradley Maule-ffinch, Director of Strategy for IP EXPO Event Series.

On-going digitalization projects within Swedish companies:

  • Development of new digital business models (51.1 percent)
  • Improvement of digital resources for customer service (45.6 percent)
  • Development of new digital sales channels (41.5 percent)
  • Increased focus on digital marketing (37.8 percent)
  • Digitalization of product development process (31.5 percent)
  • Other initiatives (28.5 percent)

Planned digitalization projects within Swedish companies (coming 2 yrs):

  • Development of new digital business models (43.6 percent)
  • Increased focus on digital marketing (38.6 percent)
  • Improvement of digital resources for customer service (38.2 percent)
  • Development of new digital sales channels (35.1 percent)
  • Digitalization of product development process (31.3 percent)
  • Other initiatives (29.7 percent)
